Province of Cordillera, Chilean province located to the east of the Metropolitan Region; it occupies a small area of the intermediate, stuffed sediment depression glaciers, fluvial and volcanic, and of the mountain range of the Andes until the limit with Argentina.
The Mountain range Province (Chile) has a surface of 5,616 km2 and counts on a population of 468,554 inhabitants (according to estimations of the I.N.E. for 2005). It is integrated by the communes of High Bridge, San jOse de Maipo and Pirque.Economia: In the Mountain range Province the plaster operation stands out in the volcano, sector of the Drawer of the Maipo. The waters of the Maipo river maintain an agriculture that characterizes by the presence of fruit trees and the development of vineyards destined the vitivinícola industry. The industry of the paper (wastebasket of High Bridge) and the one of the flour (Mill of High Bridge) generate great sources of work. |
