The Province of General Carrera is located in center-this of XI the Region of Aisén of General Carlos Ibáñez of the Field, has a surface of 12,406.5 km² and has a population of 6,921 inhabitants. Its provincial capital is the city of Small Chile.

Chile Chico
The commune of Small Chile is located in the Southeastern shore of the General lake Carrera, has a surface of 4,669 km square and one population of 3,757 inhabitants. Its territory extends from the border with Argentina to the limit of the North Ice Field. The capital of the commune is the city of Small Chile and their more important towns and villas are: Fachinal, Great Mallín, Guadal Port and Bertrand Port. The commune characterizes itself by the resistances of her landscape, barren of Pampas with the fruit trees and the tree-lined avenues, of its small farms in planes and fertile valleys, that make think that one is in the central zone of Chile. The General lake Carrera stays in almost all the commune causing a microclimate with pleasant temperatures and a low rainfall, near 250 annual mm present. Their climate, the lake and kindness of their agriculture have given to Small Chile the name him of "City of the Sun".

Tourist Attractions
BAHÍA JARA: It is a beautiful lacustrine beach located to 17 km to the west of Small Chile. Its location is protected of the wind and to arrive at her numerous small farms and parcels are due to cross.
LAGUNA VERDE: It is located to 25 km of Small Chile by the way that borders the General lake Carrera with southwestern direction. PASO DE LAS LLAVES : Sector of the way that borders the shore of the General lake Carrera, is located between Fachinal and Great Mallín. It is an enormous cliff by which it recently crosses the constructed way, having a spectacular Vista of the Cochrane lake it is located between 47º and 47º 45' of latitude and 71º 50' and 73º 45' of west longitude. Access
AEREA From Coyhaique aerodrome Lieutenant Vidal and airport of Balmaceda, to the aerodromes with asphalted tracks of Chile Chico and Cochrane, section of approximately 2.5 flight hours. Other tracks in the area of smaller importance like those of Murta Bay and Port exist Sanchez. Of Cochrane to Tortel, the flight time is of 30 minutes and land in a granular taxiway.
